New Zealand, with its capital Wellington, uses the New Zealand Dollar (NZD) and primarily speaks English. Located in the Southern Hemisphere, it offers opposite seasons to many countries. December to February is summer with long days ideal for hiking. June to August brings winter, perfect for skiing in Queenstown and Wanaka. March to May showcases stunning autumn foliage across the country.
Day 1 – Arrival Auckland
Check out & transfer to Sydney Airport to take flight for Auckland. Upon arrival, you will be met by our local representative in the Arrival Hall. Transfer to hotel.
Day 2 – Auckland Sky Tower & Blue Springs Day Tour
After breakfast, visit the Sky Tower in Auckland for panoramic views from the observation decks including the glass-bottomed viewing platform. Take a short walk to Viaduct Harbour. Later, visit Blue Springs Putaruru – a public walking track with crystal-clear blue water and peaceful surroundings.
Day 3 – Auckland to Rotorua via Waitomo
After breakfast, travel across the rich Waikato farmland to Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitomo Caves and a boat ride through the famous Glowworm Grotto, where twinkling lights illuminate the dark ceiling like stars. Check in to your hotel in Rotorua.
Day 4 – Rotorua Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit Te Puia thermal village known for its hot springs, geysers and boiling mud pools. Watch Maori craftsmen and learn about traditional arts of carving and weaving, and visit Rainbow Springs. In the evening, experience the Redwoods Nightlights – suspended walkways through towering ancient trees illuminated by soft, artistic lighting.
Day 5 – Hobbiton Movie Set & Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa
Step into the enchanting world of Middle-earth with a guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set, where rolling green hills and charming hobbit holes bring The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit to life. Later, enjoy the luxurious Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa on Rotorua’s lakefront – a Maori-inspired wellness experience blending natural geothermal waters with cultural storytelling.
Day 6 – Rotorua – Auckland – Queenstown – Whitewater Rafting
After breakfast, travel to Auckland Airport and fly to Queenstown. Check in to your hotel. Then raft the Kawarau River – famously known as the River Anduin from The Lord of the Rings – on an exciting half-day adventure covering approximately 8 kilometres of Grade 2–4 rapids, concluding with New Zealand’s longest commercially rafted rapid, the Dog Leg.
Day 7 – Hydro Attack Shark Ride & Gondola & Stargazing
After breakfast, experience 15 minutes in the Seabreacher X watercraft – the world’s first commercial Hydro Attack operator. Then take the scenic Gondola ride (Southern Hemisphere’s steepest) 450 metres above Queenstown to Bob’s Peak. In the evening, explore the Milky Way and famous constellations in an all-weather Stargazing experience.
Day 8 – Shotover Jet Boat & Lake Tekapo Day Trip
After breakfast, join the Shotover Jet for the world’s most exciting jet boat ride through the spectacular Shotover River Canyons, with famous full 360-degree spins. Later, enjoy a scenic 3–3.5 hour drive to Lake Tekapo, famous for turquoise waters and alpine backdrop. Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd, stroll the lakeshore, and return to Queenstown in the evening.
Day 9 – Queenstown – Milford Sound Nature Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy the popular Milford Sound two-hour cruise taking in the highlights of the fiord with skipper commentary. The modern vessel features comfortable indoor seating, tall panoramic windows, and a large open upper deck for wildlife viewing including seals, dolphins and penguins. Onboard dining menu and licensed bar available.
Day 10 – Queenstown to Franz Josef
After breakfast, drive from Queenstown to Franz Josef.
Day 11 – Franz Josef – Skydive 18,000ft
After breakfast, experience NZ’s highest skydive – up to 85 seconds of freefall from 18,000ft above the Westland and Aoraki/Mt Cook National Parks, with stunning views of glaciers, rainforest, mirror lakes and braided river beds.
Day 12 – Twin Glacier Helicopter – TranzAlpine Train – Christchurch
After breakfast, experience both Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier in one helicopter trip – land on snow plains and admire views of the Southern Alps and Mt Cook. Drive to Greymouth, drop off the rental car, and board the iconic TranzAlpine Train for a scenic journey to Christchurch. Private transfer to hotel on arrival.
Day 13 – Christchurch – Swimming with Dolphins at Akaroa
After breakfast, board Black Cat Cruises at Main Wharf, Akaroa (90 minutes from Christchurch) for a Swimming with Dolphins cruise. Swim with Hector’s Dolphins – the world’s smallest and rarest. Everything provided: wetsuits, masks, snorkels, hot showers and hot chocolate. Total experience approximately 3.5 hours.
Day 14 – Christchurch Airport
Transfer to the airport to board your flight back home.
